Weather in the Horezu Depression
Horezu town with a population of 6,300 inhabitants is located in Valcea county, 45 km from Ramnicu Valcea.
Access to the town is on Route 67, which connects the city of Rm Valcea (45 km) and the city of Targu-Jiu (70 km). To south with the city is Craiova (113 km) on Route 65C.
The center is one of the most important traditional folk art in Romania.
The city is known for both Horezu monastery founded by Constantin Brancoveanu and ceramics produced here.
Many of the inhabitants are dealing with the production of decorated pottery (plates, bowls), seeking highly both at home and abroad.
The first documentary mention of the settlement is carried out in 1487 during the reign of Vlad the Monk.
Pottery Fair "Horezu Rooster", which is held every year in the first week of June, attracts artisans and tourists from many regions around the country.
Horezu Monastery, built in magnificent style Brancovean had an important role in Romanian culture by hosting its founder library that includes over 300 books and manuscripts of inestimable value.
