The Hurezi Monastery was built between 1690 and 1693 and is the most important foundation of Prince Constantin Brâncoveanu (1688–1714).
The assembly spans over more than three hectares, including the monastery itself, the infirmary of the Church, the Hermitage of the Apostles and the Hermitage of St. Stephen, as well as the «Sfinţii Îngeri» Church. Since 1993, the monastery of Hurezi is included in the UNESCO World Heritage list.
The Church of Saint Constantine and his mother Helena was built between 1690 and 1693 and develops the style of the Episcopal Church of the Monastery of Argeș. The settlement was founded by Prince Constantin Brâncoveanu, who wanted to have a place inside it when he died. For this reason, the church houses the tomb of the Prince, but this was never used because Brâncoveanu was buried in the church of St. George in Bucharest.
