Wood Carving

The Romanian people, the creator of art of great richness and originality, realised many valuable objects, full of fantasy, in the field of wood sculpture. Over time, for realising different wood objects, tools such as the ax, saw, adze, «horj» (tool used for ditching), chisel, knife, gouge, compass, hollow punch, mattock, pattern of pyrography.

Romanian craftsmen have always had a developed artistic sense and always graced the objects produced by them. Wood sculptors and carvers predominantly used, as an ornamental style, the geometrical style, but in the decoration of wooden objects floral, zoomorphic and anthropomorphic motives are also spread.
